What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Glad I Didn't Take a Year Off

Not that ever considered it be an option (my mom would have killed me) but after reading An Off Year I feel a lot better about my decision to go right from high school to college. Back in my day, in the Middle Ages, most people who were going to college didn't take a year off, anyway. I guess that is more common today.
The main character is totally unlikeable but it is still a pretty interesting story. I don't know why I wasn't too happy, snappy about reading it. It was just kind of there...but still...still it was original and for a good read for someone who is getting ready to make college and future decisions.
