What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

It Feels Like Fall

This was the first day I could really feel fall coming on, not so much because it was chilly, but there was a slant to the sunlight and a smell in the air that meant fall.
Anyone know where that line comes from? A fabulous book everyone had heard of and everyone should read, Tex by S.E. Hinton.
I love that line because I love the book and I love fall and I KNOW exactly what Tex is experiencing. I think I experienced it yesterday, but I don't know. I hear it is supposed to go back up in the 80s this week, but still...yesterday seemed to make the beginning of the end of summer. Who cares what the calendar says, fall is here.
Last year I started a blog called Every Day in October. I wrote some personal stuff in it that I would rather not share with the world, so I can't link to it because I made it private, but I am grateful for that time in my life and the fact that I was able to, indeed, write "every day in October" and post.
I was thinking about doing something autumn-themed with the ole blog here, like "reading the season" and reading fall-themed books but I am not sure I can find enough of them! But I am going to try.
