What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

The Worst Cook in America

Terrible Typhoid Mary:  a true story of the deadliest cook in America is the story of the real Mary Mallon, who I knew existed, but nothing else.  It is the latest from the completely fabulous Susan Campbell Bartoletti, who is one of my "can do no wrong" authors.  I do love children's, tween and ya non-fiction, especially when they are about something so interesting.  And Campbell Bartoletti has done another wonderful job of taking the reader right back into the story and giving a lot of information in an easy and interesting way.  Also she doesn't draw conclusions, she leads that up to the reader, did Mary do all of her damage on purpose?  Who knows?  But I want to know!  Great book!
