South Africa after apartheid ended, but it sure didn't seem like it had. The "housing" that Tendai describes was very much real and very much sickening. The White Giraffe was a book I listened to in bits and pieces because my mom wanted to hear it, too, so we only listened to it when we were in the car together. I think that this had an impact on how I enjoyed it. I gave it four of five stars, though. I wonder and think it probably could have been a five.
It is the first in the Animal Healer series. If I can find the others on audio, I will listen to another!
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
