What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Just Can't Get Into Him

I know I used to not be able to relate to Gary Paulsen and then he became one of my most favorite authors so I keep giving Andrew Clements another try. It's not that I dislike him, it's just that I'm not wild about him. These are decent little stories and I did like Room One:  and a mystery or two.  Plus it is set in Nebraska!  This is a small town story of a boy who is the only sixth grader in his one room school house.  One morning while delivering papers he sees the face of a girl in the window of an abandoned house.  He is a fan of detective novels and he undertakes his own mystery, trying to find out who she is.
