I do this preschool math class, right? And we do the numbers 0-10 and once as a joke I asked them to put up eleven fingers.
A very smart four year old held up her two pointer fingers, each to look like a one and held them side by side, so she did put 11 in the air.
It was awesome!
And very smart!
Eleven is by Patricia Reilly Giff who has written some super-popular first reader series like The Kids of Polk Street School and Polka Dot Private Eye.
This a mystery book about a boy, age eleven, who discovers something that makes him question his past. It is a really good little mystery and moves very quickly.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
