Under Rose-Tainted Skies was a fantastic book. It was one of those books I read just because it seemed interesting and it was short! But I am so glad I did. I don't even think that I read the full description, but this was such a powerful look at OCD and anxiety and hope and life and a real girl and a real mom and a real boy.
This might seem really odd, but one of the things I found most real and refreshing was the use of profanity! It wasn't an overload, but it was there. It was NORMAL! If you don't like profanity, I really doubt you will be offended. It was just so natural and normal and there isn't a lot of it. I mean, people swear but most people don't use profanity in every conversation, or even every day and neither does Norah. But sometimes, in extreme circumstances, a swear word is just the right word. I don't mean to go on and on about it. I just think it was real.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
