read that Genuine Fraud was written with the idea that it would pay homage, be an update to The Talented Mr. Ripley, I really began to LOVE this book. There was a movie made of that book in 1999. And I confess, that is how I came to know the story. It was only years later I realized it was from a book and a series. I have not read them, but wow, that movie. It was a horror movie, I think.
I really enjoy all of Lockhart's books and this one was one of the best books I have read so far this year. I don't know if it is a Printz kind of book, but it sure was a great, great, great read that I can recommend. It was completely creepy and very well written. I think it definitely should be considered. It is just so well done, how can it not?
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
