What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

The Big Seven

There are Seven Deadly Sins, right?  The Seven Ways We Lie is about them.  Seven high school kids, each identifying with one of the sins. The father of my dear friend (he is my friend, too!) is in the middle of a Lenten preaching series at his church, doing a sin a week and he has been sending them to me and they are amazing!  You can check them out here. 
I loved the movie Se7en.  I mean if it is okay to love a movie like that.  I really found it....what is the right word?  Riveting?  Yeah. 
This book?  Not a 5, but a 4.  But I would recommend it!
