What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Maybe I Just Didn't Hear It
Zusak's The Book Thief. I started it a long time ago but couldn't get into it, but I think I will try again because I really, really loved I Am the Messenger. I haven't heard the urgent " You NEED to read this" about IATM like I have for TBT, but man, I really, really loved IATM! So if TBT is even better, then I really need to try it again. Really good book. I am not sure how to categorize it though. The labels will be hard on this one. For sure a mystery. Realistic fiction? Magical realism, but yet there isn't really magic as we know "magic" to be. Great mystery and a great character study.
