Dory Fantasmagory! Loved it! Loved it! And Dory Fantasmagory and the Real True Friend was just as good. It was fantastic. Truly. I loved how it didn't go in the way that I thought it would. It totally avoided being just another story about making new friends and about how it is easy to go along with a clique and how about being different is great. It was just original and fresh, even though it is a common topic, Dory, starting a new school year and her older brother and sister telling her not to be weird like she was last year or she won't have any friends. Dory is a girl, but anyone of any gender would love this book.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
