What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Just not for me

I don't know. Great cover! Interesting idea! But I just didn't enjoy The King of Slippery Falls. I admit I checked it out for my Reading Road Trip. How many Idaho books are there? But right before it, I found my Idaho book and finished it, so maybe I had a bad attitude going in. Also the narrator's voice was nice, but he just seemed so rushed.
It is the story of a 15 year old dude, Louis, who finds out he is adopted and then starts to think about who he really is. The vocabulary is high and comes across as unnatural. One of his friends has the worst last name in history and it killed me every time I heard it. Baderhoovernisterah. And he never calls her Mrs. B.? Never?
Yeah.  I just didn't really like it very much.
