What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Misery for the Teen Crowd

The Detour is a lot like Misery, but not really.  But kinda.  But I have no problem with it, because 1.  I don't like Stephen King and 2.  S.A. Bodeen acknowledges that it is like Misery, when the author in this book is kidnapped and she herself says that she feels like she is in the book Misery.
The author in this book, Livvy Flynn is a teen and a teen author.  And the book is really well done.  It has action and drama and contemplation and all of that!  I think guys would like this, too, even though the story is told from the POV of a female.  There is a enough to keep it all moving.  The daughter of the kidnapper is super creepy.  And man...that bee scene?!
