What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

I don't know...
At first I thought Give Me Your Hand was a decent book, you know, a three star kind of book. But then after reflecting on all of the incredible books that I have read lately, I realized that it was more of a two star kind of book. I think that people who are hesitant to read children's or tween or young adult books just because they are for "younger" audiences are really, really missing out on some exceptional and original stories. Not that GMYH wasn't original. It was. It was just...it was okay. The story was good. It was just the characters were lacking I thought. For me anyway. Also I guess because most of the adult books that I do read are of this genre, I know what I like and I like what I like. Not to say that others wouldn't enjoy it. I just wasn't for me.
