What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Fiction or Non
Gary Paulsen can do it all. This Side of Wild: Mutts, Mares and Laughing Dinosaurs is nonfiction and it is so good! Is this is memoir? I think it is. Maybe? I am not sure! In any case, it was really good. And I learned a lot about animals that I didn't know. And he just really has a way of description that is perfect. Not too wordy, but just the right words so that the reader gets the picture. Stephen King? Have you ever read Gary Paulsen? The stories about animal communication are the kind that make you go back and read or listen twice. "What?!" They seem unbelievable, but Paulsen is just SO believable. Just great stuff.
