My mom had seen Dr. Phil talk about his book, The 20/20 Diet: turn your weight loss vision into reality and asked me to buy it for her. Right before Christmas, it was impossible to find and even out of stock on amazon. So I bought it on the kindle and also the audible version so that we could have a listen.
Mom quickly got bored, but I stayed with it because even though Dr. Phil wasn't the narrator, I could hear him, with his southern twang admonishing us for every screw up. It was kinda funny.
For me, it is too much shopping and too much cooking and too restrictive and I think I have found something that works for now, so I won't take on his plan, but it is worth reading if you want to try to lose weight, and if you like Dr. Phil.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
