First of all, I think it is so cool that the actual word for baby owl is OWLET! I mean, how sweet is that! The Owl Diaries are a very cute-look series.
So far I have read the first two, Eva's Treetop Festival, in which she behaves a lot like I have in the past, trying to be the "BIG CHEESE" and not wanting to ask for help, then not being able to do all of the things I promised to do and eventually having to ask for help anyway.
And Eva Sees a Ghost, which was just a sweet little story. I LOVE the illustrations in these books. Even though I am not an owl-obsessed person, like some are, I found them to be just terrific. I mean, I love owls, but I don't have a "thing for them" like my friend, Char, who is the Children's Librarian at Independence Public Library in Independence, Kansas! Which is home to Neewollah and also where Vivian Vance lived from the age of six!
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
