What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

For Some Reason
I didn't look carefully at the cover of Booked. I wish I had. I thought that Booked was a sequel to The Crossover which I loved, loved, loved, so I thought "a sequel, hmm...how can it be as good?" and so I wasn't too excited to read it. I mean, I knew I would read it, but I was going to wait until I could get it from the library, one of those things. Then I actually read what it was about and then I looked closely at the cover and I had to have it! And so I bought it on audible. And it was well worth it. Well worth it. So good. A soccer story time time, but no more a "soccer story" than The Crossover was just a "basketball story." Mr. Alexander has done it again. Incredible.
