What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Its a Myracle!
Oh how I was waiting and wanting to use that pun! It fits so well! Because even though I am for sure still obsessed with Linda Lavin and the gang, I found TTLY. The first in the Internet Girls series by Lauren Myracle. This was the first book to be written completely in IM format. Which, if you really think about it, had to be hard to do. Think about being limited to IM while trying to develop characters and construct a plot. But TTYL succeeds big time. Three high school girls, best friends, deal with broken hearts, strained friendships and a perverted teacher all online. The book is five years old and IM is fading into the annals of electronic history, but at this time, it is still not as dated as you might think, probably because the feelings and experiences of the girls are timeless and their voices ring true. For me to get over the dated feel of IM I told myself it was as if they were texting and that helped me buy it all the way. I don't think I feel totally in love with the format, but I'll definately we reading the other two books in the series. Great author. Great book. And maybe, just maybe, the miracle I needed.
