So tonight I was watching American Idol, which I admit, without shame at all, that I love. Tonight the remaining six contestants had to choose a song written by Carole King. I think it would have been more of a challenge if they had to choose a song NOT written by Carole King, however, as King has written pretty much every good song in the world. Everything from Chains to Chicken Soup with Rice to one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES Go Away Little Girl to the theme from that really, really great but short-lived tv show, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, which is a beautiful song, to cheesy but catchy tunes like The Loco-motion and One Fine Day to another of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS Take Good Care of My Baby to Will You Love Me Tomorrow. That's not even mentioning all of the huge hits she had herself with songs she wrote herself. Just think about Tapestry.
So anyway...while I was thinking about AI and Carole King, I learned that King also wrote ANOTHER ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS Time Don't Run Out on Me. This song KICKS it! And if you have ever been in love and felt that the person whom you love is pulling away....well, then you gotta love this song! I mean, it is real and so true.
And so when I was thinking about TDROOM, I started thinking, naturally, about Anne Murray. Long story short, I think she's fabulous. One of my most FAVORITE SINGERS OF ALL TIME.
Night All!
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
