What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

A List

Of course what drew me to 12 Things to Do Before You Crash and Burn was the length! This book is small!
I was really surprised to see the low ratings it has received on goodreads.com because I really liked this book. It would have liked it even if it was longer! I gave it the full complement of stars, actually!
Hercules is the son of a recently deceased, world famous Dr. Phil-esque self-help guru. His father was killed in a plane crash and at the funeral, after everyone has gotten up to say how his father was so amazing, Herc gets up and simply says, "My father was an a#*."
So....he is sent then to spend two weeks with his bachelor uncle in Baltimore. His uncle gives him twelve tasks to complete in twelve days.
Great stuff. Seriously. Great book.
