So yeah...we all know the song, Wake Me Up When September Ends. It is a beautiful, sad and memorable song. It's about the death of Billie Joe's dad, seven years before. It's been seven years since my Joanie died. September 16. Eliot says that "April is the cruelest month." But for me, it is September. It probably is for most Americans as well, for how can we forget? And for those born after, to whom it is just history, September means back to school. Fun and exciting for some. Terrifying and torture for others.
They say October is the month of terror and haunting and ghosts.
I might disagree.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
