Falling Under would probably make a good movie. There are some really great, terrifying descriptive passages in this book that I read more than once just to conjure them up in my mind and get little Halloween goosebumps. Deliciously shivery!
This is the story of a girl, Theia, who falls in love with a demon, Haden. Haden is just a half-demon, actually. His mom is the full demon and she has sent him to earth to steal a bride so that they can have child and keep on growing the demons. See demons can't have babies with demons, but they can have them with humans.
The book is definitely influenced by Twilight, but it isn't a rip-off. I liked it, but the ending was kind of unravely for me (I know that isn't a word, but I just like it). I have a million books to read now, so I won't read the sequel right away, but I will someday.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
