What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Who are you? Names, nationalities, and virtually any other socially-defined attributes do not count. Deep down, who are you?

I found a pretty fabulous site on the web called 30 Questions Guaranteed to Make You Think.  I jumped all the way to the end, with the question that is the title of this post.  What a good question!
This is a tough question when you think that it asks you to take out the socially-defined attributes.  First I must discover what a socially-defined attribute is, besides those that are listed, of course!
So no names:  Ing
No nationalities:  American, of German heritage
I am assuming that I can't say things like:  Christian, American Baptist, Democrat, Librarian, Minister, Heterosexual, Political Moderate, Daughter.  Stuff like that.
So, really...who am I?
What ISN'T a socially-defined attribute, since we live in a social world and we are social beings?
Hmm...
Well.  Maybe non-socially-defined attributes are things that we are given, things we have no control over, like name and nationality.
So maybe the things that we choose to be, those are the non-socially-defined thingies.  Does that make sense?
So I guess then I can say:  Christian, American Baptist, Democrat, Librarian, Minister, Political Moderate.  Okay so I thought this question would be exciting but I have made a mess out of it.  I ruined it and made it boring.  I will try another!
