What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

If You Don't Mind a Little Mean

The Templeton Twins Have an Idea is one of those snarky books with a snarky narrator that I do think some kids, maybe many kids will like.  Personally I think the narrator was just too mean!  But I am a sensitive girl!  John and Abigail are twins, the kids of a professor and inventor who is really big time into his inventions and can be very absent-minded.  But he is a good dude.  Mom has died and that is sad.
This is the first in a series and deals with a nutball named Dean D. Dean who believes that the Professor has stolen his idea for one of his inventions.  He kidnaps the children so that their father will give him the invention glory, money and so forth.  Dean D. Dean and his brother, his twin, Dan D. Dean are nutballs for sure.  And I am sure they will be back in other stories of the Templeton Twins.  The nice thing about the book is that it is funny and has funny pictures and most of all, the way that the family is loving one.  That is pretty cool, and sometimes unusual in books.
