Going Vintage is a book that a lot of people are going to love. I know that and I'll buy a couple copies for the library and it will be easy to recommend. I can already think of teens who will devour it.
Mallory has just discovered that her long-time boyfriend, Jeremy, is cheating on her with a cyber-girl. She is heartbroken, being that Jeremy is her first love. Her grandma has moved to a posh retirement community and while helping her move, Mallory stumbles upon keepsakes from her grandma's high school years. Mallory decides to give up technology and "go vintage," live like her gram did in 1962.
The premise is good and original. I just couldn't get into the characters much at all. It wasn't one of my favorites, but I bet it will be popular.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
