Man I don't like that song. I mean I just don't like how it sounds. Musically. I like the reminder that we are all God's creation and therefore deserve love and respect. The big missing piece is that God did become one of us. He came to us as His Son.
God Went to Beauty School is a good, no, a great little book. Poems about God as if He was a person like going to beauty school, doing normal, everyday things. I am sure that some people have problems with it. Might even think it is blasphemous. But it isn't meant to be theology. It is just a wonderful way of thinking more about our God and it made me think about the way my actions hurt or help Him. Make Him proud or sad. I loved it.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
