What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Andrew

Clements is growing on me, I guess.  I just really liked Troublemaker a lot and I think I know what it is that makes him so successful.  He really gets into the heads of kids.  He really seems to know and express what kids feel and what they are thinking.  The books seem really real to me.  At least Troublemaker did.  Clayton is a troublemaker.  He wants to be one.  He likes being in trouble because his older brother is his hero and well, he's a troubled dude.  But when his older brothers spends a little time in jail, he comes out and tells Clayton he has to straighten up and fly right.  It's tough for Clay.  And his rep follows him, and so that makes things even tougher.
