What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Gene Kelly Awards
So on Saturday night I attended the Gene Kelly Awards with my amazing wonder mom! We had a really good time and saw some great performances. One other thing we saw was the author of Better Nate Than Ever, TimFederle, who was a CLO Mini-star back in the day. Wait. Maybe he wasn't. Maybe he just performed in a musical that was up for Gene Kelly Award. I can't remember. But anyway, he was a great presenter and they mentioned that he wrote this book and I had heard from my friend Joy that it was a great book so I bought and read it and yes, it was a great book! Nate is a kid who is bound for Broadway! But he is from a mini-town near Pittsburgh and that's about as far away as he thinks he can get. Still he hops a bus with the hopes to making it to an audition for E.T.: the musical. Very funny book about a boy dealing with bullies, his sexuality, his love of the theater and everything else. Great stuff. I hope there will be more from Federle and more about Nate!
