What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

The Ending
The ending of The Last Holiday Concert was really good. I mean, it was a happy ending, but not a sappy ending. And it made the book so worth while. I liked this one, too. The main character is a well-liked kid with a great first name- Hart. As in Hartford. What a great name. I also like that Hart knows it is a great name and mentions it. He is a popular dude, but he's not obnoxious. Even when he is put in charge of heading up the holiday concert, he doesn't let it go to his head. Hart Evans doesn't like chorus but hates it. And pretty much everyone in the sixth grade chorus is unexcited about the upcoming concert. But then Hart takes over...
