What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Give Me One Reason
Well, Hannah Baker gave more than one reason, she gave thirteen reasons for her suicide in 13 Reasons Why. This book is very hot. Everyone seems to love this book. And I liked it. It is very sad, of course, dealing with teen suicide. But you know that going in, so you are prepared. Still, it is original, in that the whole deal is Hannah Baker commits suicide, but before she does, she makes cassette tapes explaining why, calling out those who lead her to suicide. Basically though, Hannah seems to blame no one but herself, as the tipping point seems to something that she failed to do. Good book. Good for discussion.
