What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Boxing

When I read a book, it is a full-emersion kind of experience for me.  If it's a book about parkour, I'm reading all about parkour.  If it's about Mormonism, I'm reading all about Mormonism.  If it's about Zora Neal Hurston, I'm all over Zora Neal Hurston.  Even though Spenser and Hawk did their share of boxing, I never really got into learning more about it until I read The Boxer and the Spy.  The Boxer and the Spy is supposed to be a YA book, but it is another one that is great for adult fans of Parker, too.  Boxing plays a huge part in this murder mystery.  Terry Novak and his almost-girlfriend, Abby are set on figuring it out.  Great stuff.  Why?  Because nobody writes like the Dean of American Crime Fiction.
