What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

He is what he is....

Some of the negative reviews for The Psychopath Inside:  a neuroscientist's journey into the dark side of the brain confused me.  Folks were very critical of the author, saying that he was full of himself or a jerk and the like, and I thought, "um...didn't they read the title?"  
The guy is a psychopath.  The title says so and the author continues to say so in the book, so it shouldn't come as a surprise!  
I wasn't put off by the author, but rather the scientific stuff was way beyond me, so I didn't rate it very high.  If you know more about the brain itself, you might enjoy it more.  It is a quick read.  Yes, the guy isn't a nice guy.  As the title says, he's a psychopath!
