What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Downer

I guess with a title like Crazy Dangerous, it doesn't come as a surprise that this book was a downer.  It reminded me a lot of The House of Dark Shadows.   It is the story of Sam Hopkins, a preacher's kid, so it was of immediate interest to me.  But I quickly lost interest.
Read the summary to get the plot, as always, and I will add that I thought that the faith aspects fell short.  For better books about preacher's kids, read Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy and Preacher's Boy.
That is not to say that some won't really like this book.  It just wasn't my thing at all.
