This week we lost one of the most prolific and creative writers of our time. Known mostly for his crime and detective fiction, Parker was the creator of some of my most favorite characters in all of the book world: Spenser, Jesse Stone, and Sunny Randall. He also wrote a trio of westerns which I absolutely love for their cool and heroic cowboys: Everett Hitch and Virgil Cole. You simply can't go wrong with a Parker novel. I actually envy those of you who perhaps haven't read him yet, you have his entire body of work to enjoy! I've read just about everything, so maybe I'll have to start over.
