What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

The First Part Last
My One Hundred Adventures came before Northward to the Moon which I finished last week and loved. I liked Adventures but not as much as Northward, which probably means that if the author writes another, it will be even better than Northward and I'll read it because I was lucky enough to read the second book in the series first! Not that this book wasn't good...it just wasn't as good as the second. I am glad I read it though, because it makes Northward even more funny and enjoyable, now that I know Jane's backstory. A great book for tweens for sure and good for discussion. Some parents might be put off by the fact that Jane and her siblings all have different dads and none of them know who their dad is. But that does happen in real life. This book just has so much to offer and is so different from a lot of the stuff out there. I think it would also be a great mother-daughter discussion book. There's a lot of humor here, too, subtle and sophisticated.
