The premise isn't all that original: girl falls in love with best friend's boyfriend. I mean, switch genders and you have the amazing song, Jessie's Girl, right? But the thing about something being familiar also means its real and believable. That's what this book is. The characters' voices all ring true. Even the less likable characters are interesting and real. Well except for Loni's mother. She pulls a serious jerk-o move than just makes her character so totally ugly to me that I can't even think a single nice thing about her. She is a total jerk. The only other thing that was kind of annoying was the over-blown environmental message.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Something Is Happening to Me!
Another book dealing with love! I have no idea what has gotten in to me! Why am I reading these books about love? And the even more burning question is this: why am I enjoying them? Am I changing? Maybe I am changing! Because I really enjoyed Something Like Fate even though love is the theme!
