The book starts just the way I love my mysteries, it sucks you right in with a crazy crime. I was guessing all the way until the end. Virgil is so lovable. I'll be reading the next one, and the next and the next....
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

That Freakin' Flowers
If you're a Lucas Davenport fan, you know that isn't really Virgil's nickname, but I like to keep the site family-friendly. Virgil has always been one of my favorite characters from the Prey series and I can't believe I've waited this long to read or listen to, as I did in this case, one of his books. Dark of the Moon was a solid mystery set in Minnesota. It was narrated by Eric Conger and I really, really loved the way he read it.
