What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

The Best Mother in the World

The Best Mother in the World in Vacherie, LA.
This weekend was a busy one and so there was not much reading going on.  My dear friend Madonna went to Liberty University to see her lovely daughter graduate and so I worked the weekend for her.  I was glad to do it, she's a wonderful friend to me and what a joyful celebration!
It was also Mother's Day weekend and while I didn't get to take my mom out, we did get to hang together a lot.  That picture was taken near the Laura Plantation, last year when my mom and I went to New Orleans.  We had gotten lost going to the plantation and stopped at another to go to the restroom!  My mom is the best person in the world and I love her so much.  I am so proud to be her daughter and I am so, so, so thankful for her.  Words can't do it justice.  She's just amazing.  Here's the song we listen to every Mother's Day, because she IS appreciated.  I love my mother so much.
