I can't believe how much has changed! So many good books in a row! Bam! Bam!
This one was a YA or Tween Non-fiction, Discovering Wes Moore, the younger version of the adult book, The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates, both written by, um, Wes Moore!
The author, Wes Moore, is a Rhodes Scholar, journalist, combat veteran and White House Fellow. The "other" Wes Moore is serving a life sentence for killing a police officer. Both grew up on the streets, fatherless, had troubles in school and messed around with the drug trade. One turned his life around and the other didn't, until it was far too late.
The book was very interesting and read like fiction and offered up many questions. Why did one Wes turn out one way and one Wes turn out another way?
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
