What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Creep Sisters
In Beyond: a ghost story, by Graham McNamee, Jane and her best friend, Lexi, call themselves the Creep Sisters because they are obsessed with the dark side of life. Jane is more than obsessed though, she is haunted by the dark side. There is a ghost stuck to her, see, and he wants her to die so that she can be with him forever. I really enjoyed this very dark book for many reasons. It was quick, for one. Second, it was original. Third, the parents are good people. I feel like too many books just highlight rotten parents. I like that Park's parents in Eleanor and Park were super cool, and liked Jane's parents in this book. McNamee is the author of Acceleration, which was also dark and great!
