What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Can't Remember

Glory Be is one of those books that I had seen around for a while, I am not sure where, but it always seemed to be THERE when I turned around, that kinda thing.  When I saw it for download from the library, I figured I might as well have a listen.
This was a good book, and another painful reminder of the horror of racism. Sadly, we don't really need reminders though, do we?  Think about it, it is still very much alive and destroying lives today.
Glory Be takes place in Mississippi during Freedom Summer.   I look forward to reading more by Augusta Scattergood.  She had a new book come out just this year.
