By now it is probably clear that I fall in love with anything that Gary Paulsen writes.
The Rifle is a powerful, powerful little story.
One that everyone should read.
It follows a rifle from its birth prior to the American Revolutionary War into the 1990s.
It isn't preachy.  It is just real.
