I get so upset by books and movies in which the hero is mistaken for the bad guy and he/she tries to prove that he/she is not the weenie, but no one will listen! Spells and Sleeping Bags was exactly that kind of story. It was very hard for me to listen to! Not because I didn't enjoy it...I love all of the series and all of Sarah Mlynowski's books, but because I truly love Rachel, even though she is selfish (and she admits it)! She is a really good kid under it all.
This book in the series takes place at summer camp where Rachel is trying to get something going with Raf, but there is something funny going on...something witchy...is it Miri? Jealous of her sister? Doesn't seem like Miri, she's the kind of girl who wants to use her magic powers to help the homeless. So what IS going on at camp? And will Rachel ever get to kiss Raf?
Funny, clever, awesome. It probably is more fun to read the books in order, starting with Bras and Broomsticks and then Frogs and French Kisses.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
