One is finding a great book unexpectedly. 37 Things I Love (in no particular order) was one of those books. I just picked it off the shelf and read it all. It is also a very different story, the narrator, Ellis, is a sophomore in high school and she is telling her story through 37 different things that she loves. I don't want to give too much away, but this is surprising book, quick to read and it deals with all kinds of topics, but not in an over-the-top kind of way. Sexuality, loss of a loved one, self-discovery. Great stuff. The cover is totally bizarre though. Don't know what it has to do with anything.
What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.
