What's Going On Here?
There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Fairy tales are hot these days. And after I read Coaltown Jesus, I was anxious to read more from Ron Koerteg and so it was pretty cool to just see Lies, Knives and Girls in Red Dresses sitting on the shelf at public library. This is kinda like a mix of Cloaked in Red and the Tale Dark and Grimm series, but for folks a little older. The art done by Andrea Dezso is creepy and wonderful. This was a great little book of poems. I enjoyed it very much and probably will listen to it, someday, if it is available as an audiobook, but I am glad I got to look at the art.
