What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

In the Twin Cities

So here I find myself again in the Twin Cities.  A pretty good place to find oneself, in my opinion.  My mom decided to come on my biennial visit to Grand Rapids to the Birthplace of Judy Garland.  We left on Sunday and stopped in Cranberry for breakfast.  Then near Sandusky for brunch.  Then...well, many more times for many more snacks and meals.
Our first night was spent at the Waters Inn in Waters, Michigan.  Monday was spent traveling through the UP which I always have found to be lovely.  My mom found the drive across the Mackinac Bridge to be a little scary, which is understandable when you don't like water so much, as is the case with my mommy.  We each got a delicious pasty and cheese curds in the UP, so that was very cool.  Monday night we got into Grand Rapids and stayed at the Country Inn and Suites right next to the Museum.  I've stayed there three times before and it was awesome, as always.
Then we drove down 169 to the Country Inn and Suites in Bloomington, which is the largest Country Inn and Suites in the country and right across from the Mall of America.   God willing, tomorrow we head to the State Fair and then we'll visit the Mall at night.
