is just so excellent.  Come Sing Jimmy Jo was a book she mentioned in one of the interviews she did and so I was super excited to see that it was available on audible.
I really don't think there is anyone who can create characters like Katherine Paterson.  She gives them life and SOUL.  I could feel James's heart breaking or flying high, I could feel his confusion and his certainty, his anger and his love and his worry.  How does she DO that!?!
Having been a country music fan in the 80s when this book was written, I knew just what the book meant when it talked about the changing landscape of country music.
I loved the references to the Carter Family.
I loved the whole thing.
One of the best books I have ever read.

Haven't You Heard...

That's actually the name of this song.  And it is George Strait at his best, from his Something Special album, which is a classic.  I remember my grandma would dance with me to the title song, which is easy to dance to, even if you don't know how, like I didn't.  And still don't.

I want to start writing about some songs that I love.  This one is one of the best.  Jagged Edge of a Broken Heart by Gail Davies.  Gail Davies never made it as far as she should have, and her voice on this song is proof.  She is one of the few performers to ever receive a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry, but I really think, with her talent, she should be a superstar.  But this really isn't about the artists, though, I am glad to take the time to praise Davies.  I just want to highlight some really excellent songs that you might not have listened to before, but really need to hear.
If you have ever had a broken heart, you will love this one.
