What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Hungry Girl:  Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World is written by THE Hungry Girl and I do love her site very much.  But this was published in 2008 when fat was still a bad thing, so some it was dated.  But who knows when Fat-Free will be the big thing again and it won't be dated anymore!  I would like to listen to a newer book from her.  And I did appreciate the eating-out tips!

Thinking about Eating

Mindless Eating:  Why We Eat More than We Think is fascinating. Fascinating.  Even if I didn't have the whole weight loss, eating disorder whatever thing going on, I would be fascinated by Brian Wansink's book which is part psychology, part market research, part everything.  Great stuff. Really helpful too, for someone who is going to battle the weight war forever.
