I thought Dahl wrote this book!

but once you read it, you will understand my confusion!

I especially loved the Queen.
This one had a lot more action than the ones I have read recently, I think.  But maybe not.  In any case, it was super good.  I have not seen the movie.  But I can't imagine anything being able to capture the magic of the word play in Dahl's book.

Marvelous

George's Marvelous Medicine isn't Dahl's best, but it is still one of the finest!  I loved it.  George makes a medicine for his grandma that results in some total wackiness!  Funny!  Irreverent!  Dahl!

Boys will be Boys

If you've read a lot of Roald Dahl, you probably aren't surprised to find that he was a pretty spirited kid.  Boy:  Tales of Childhood is the first of Dahl's autobiographies and I love reading the candy store chapter to grade school kids because it is, well, spirited!  Going Solo is the second autobiography and I hope to have a listen to that someday.  Fans of Dahl's work should really like this one.

Mini

The Minpins was a mini-laugh for me.  It was quirky and fun but it was a 3 of 5 stars.  Maybe it was just too short or something.  But I don't know, probably that wasn't it.  I mean, The Magic Finger is probably my most favorite Dahl book or maybe the Vicar of Nibbelswicke and they both super short.  I just didn't love this one.  Still, I would recommend it.  It was probably more me than the book.

Delightfully Twitty

Roald Dahl is one weird dude.  Was.  But man, he wrote some great, great, super funny stuff.  The Twits is a great one.  I wouldn't say it is one of the best, but it is a 4 of 5 star for me.  The Twits are husband and wife and absolutely awful.  But they get what is coming to them, do they ever.  Thanks to a multi-lingual bird.  Very funny.

Five Books But I Will Count Them As One

I have to count them as one I think, because they are pretty small.
The Roald Dahl Audio Collection: Includes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James & the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Enormous Crocodile & The Magic Finger is read by the author himself and I think there is no one who could do it any better.  This guy was an incredible author.  I have loved every one of his books.  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach are both abridged and I don't like to count abridgments as full books anyway.  The other three are the full stories.  Loved The Magic Finger most of all!
